Week 1: 310 Kickoff

Hi all. Welcome to COMSTRAT 310: Digital Content Promotion! 310 is a course designed to help students apply writing, critical thinking, and persuasion skills to the practice and promotion of PR and advertising, in both digital and social media outlets.

This week is the kick off to the course. Key topics this week include course overview, campaign analysis, integrated marketing communications, overview of the semester-long project, careers in digital communication, PESO model, customer decision process, and overview of micro-certifications in 310.

Snapshot of this week’s activities:

  • Jan 13: Intro to 310 and getting to know each other
  • Jan 15: Overview of semester-long project and careers in digital
  • Jan 17: Intro to the paid, earned, shared, owned (PESO) model and customer decision process (with customer journey mapping). Introduction to micro-certifications in 310.

  4. Read Ch 1: Foundations in Integrated Digital Marketing
